There are times when having exactly the right tool for the job means the difference between a total non-event, and an exercise in mindless frustration.

You have ridden or walked to the park with the kids. Sure, little Jacob brought along the football as he was asked – but you didn’t ask him if it was pumped up – and he didn’t think to tell you it wasn’t, after all, you are super-parent, right? You can fix anything!

Well, armed with the VEEAPE air compressor, those ‘Oh, good grief’ moments will have you looking super in no time.

Whether it is a football or basketball, wheelchair, bicycle, motorcycle, or small pool ring – the VEEAPE is ready to solve your problem. No manual effort, no 12V outlet needed.

The manufacturers also specify car tyres, and who are we to question the manufacturers? Well, maybe it has that capacity, but frankly, we reckon car tyres are a bit of an ask. Perhaps for the odd pressure top-up, but why would you bother when the heavy-duty pressure pumps are so easily available at the garage? Still, we could be wrong.

A lot of thought has gone into this terrific device. It has a very clear and easy-to-read screen, minimal but entirely adequate controls, and enough adapters to cope with all of the above-mentioned pieces of equipment. It also includes a USB charging cable. How good is that? It means you can keep this little beauty in the glove compartment, for example, and charge it from the USB outlet in your car, just as you might with your phone.

Charging input is micro-USB 5V/2A.

It also has the ability to act as a moderate sized power bank – hah, how’s that for versatility? We love gadgets that multitask. So, if you really get stuck out on that bike ride, you can top up your phone as well as your tyre pressures. Love it, VEEAPE!

USB/A output is 5V/2A from the built-in lithium 2000mAh battery.

Like most air compressors, this one makes its fair share of noise, but it goes with the territory, so that’s a comment, not a complaint. There’s a patent out there for the first person to invent a silent air compressor!

Along with the adapters, the unit comes with a basic little travel storage bag. It is quite easy to swap measurement units between PSI, BAR, KPA, and Kg/cm2. The VEEAPE also has various modes for car, motorcycle, bike, ball, and custom – and each mode has default pressures and upper limits. These are all customisable up to a maximum of 120psi. The display also shows current pressure, and there is a handy LED light on the output end.

Operation couldn’t be easier:

· Fit the appropriate adaptor
· Long press (3 seconds) the power button to turn on
· Select mode and set pressure
· Attach to inflation point of item
· Press power button to begin operation

Our Final Opinion on this Gadget

The unit is quite compact, at 38 X 60 X 152 mm, and a solid 500gms in weight. It has an inbuilt cooling fan, so it can run flat out until the battery is empty. To give an idea of capacity, VEEAPE say it will inflate bicycle tyres 8 times, or a football 41 times – this is purely for guidance.

VEEAPE air compressor – the perfect tool for those times when things go flat.
